Patient Provider Communications (PPC) is a healthcare technology company developing Eloquence™, the first evidence-based nurse call solution. PPC was formed in early 2009 and is located in Ann Arbor, MI.
John Freshley – Interim CEO
Mr. Freshley has almost two decades of entrepreneurial leadership experience in both early stage software and life science companies. He was most recently the Chief Business Officer of Compendia Bioscience through its acquisition by Life Technologies.
Jon Baugh – Product Management
Mr. Baugh has led software development teams for over 15 years with extensive experience in medical software and devices. Over the last 8 years, he has been engaged in the High-Tech Anthropology® process for product design and development. Mr. Baugh’s team developed a simulation prototype of Eloquence from user assessment testing that resulted in enthusiastic approval from patients and nurses. Mr. Baugh also has experience in leading startups from design concept through fundraising to commercialization. His expertise helps guide decisions in company operations and product development partnerships and collaborations.
Vaughn Teegarden – Project Management
Mr. Teegarden, an experienced Internet Application Developer and Project Manager has been working in Internet technologies and web design since 1996. With over 20 years experience over a broad range of computer engineering and graphic design projects he leads the development efforts and oversees our integration with our commercialization partners and customers.
Colleen Kincaid-Beal – Operations
Ms. Kincaid-Beal is an experienced operations leader with 15+ years experience currently working with PPC as a consultant. She is also the Director of Business Operations for the University of Michigan – Applied Systems Biology Core. Previously, she was the Chief Operations Office of Compendia Bioscience through its acquisition by Life Technologies. She has deep experience in Agile software development practices, cross-functional leadership and organization development.

Lance Patak, M.D., M.B.A. – Co-Founder, Chairman
Dr. Patak brings a unique perspective to end user applications and insight on driving efficiencies with innovation across the continuum of care providers having served as a nurse assistant, registered nurse, and physician. Dr. Patak has clear insight on each care provider’s ability to contribute to the patient care process and has invaluable, in-depth and very descript knowledge of where gaps in communication make the greatest impact on the delivery of healthcare. Prior to founding PPC, Dr. Patak founded Vidatak LLC and looks forward to applying his knowledge and experience to PPC, changing the way care providers and patients communicate.
Bryan Traughber, M.D. – Co-Founder, Board Member
Dr. Traughber has extensive experience as both a clinical and translational researcher with numerous publications in peer reviewed scientific journals in the areas of image guided therapy and information technology. Dr. Traughber is the primary inventor on several patents and also serves as an entrepreneur-in-residence within the Case Western Reserve University community evaluating promising new technologies. He has over ten plus years of research experience at top tier research institutions including the National Institutes of Health, Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes, University of Michigan Medical Center, and UCLA Medical Center.
William Wilson – Board Member
Mr. Wilson is an extremely skilled CEO/CFO with over 20 years of successful experience in business management. He has managed every aspect of a company with annual revenues exceeding $75 Million. Obtaining financing from various sources he assisted numerous companies to meet their cash flow needs. He started a company in which his investors realized a 4X return on their investment within 4 years. He is an authority in financing, budgeting, revenue projections, fundraising, cash flow management, A/R, A/P, strategic planning, inventory management, purchasing, pricing, merger and acquisitions, process engineering and automation.
